Recognise the situation
A fake payment page or caller may seek card credentials or trigger an unauthorised charge.
Protect yourself now
Use the issuer's official app or number to block the affected card and report disputed transactions. Do not share CVV, PIN or OTP.
What to preserve
Keep the charge details, merchant label, date, amount and issuer complaint reference; redact full card numbers from support messages.
Reporting and next steps
For money lost, call 1930 promptly and contact your bank through its verified channel. Report cybercrime at cybercrime.gov.in and keep the acknowledgement. Chakshu on Sanchar Saathi is for suspected fraudulent communications; it does not replace reporting a crime or money lost. Contact local police for immediate threats; call 112 in immediate danger.
For your complaint, record what happened, when, the platform, amount and transaction references if any, and the evidence you have. Leave unknown facts blank. A draft is not a filed report. Human assistance can help organise complex facts, but cannot guarantee recovery.
