Recognise the situation
Fake investment apps or groups may show invented profits and demand a fee to release funds.
Protect yourself now
Stop sending money, including supposed tax or withdrawal-unlock payments. Verify the entity independently with the relevant regulator; do not rely on screenshots or group testimonials.
What to preserve
Keep app and website addresses, chats, claimed account details and transfer references. Do not pay a second 'recovery agent'.
Reporting and next steps
For money lost, call 1930 promptly and contact your bank through its verified channel. Report cybercrime at cybercrime.gov.in and keep the acknowledgement. Chakshu on Sanchar Saathi is for suspected fraudulent communications; it does not replace reporting a crime or money lost. Contact local police for immediate threats; call 112 in immediate danger.
For your complaint, record what happened, when, the platform, amount and transaction references if any, and the evidence you have. Leave unknown facts blank. A draft is not a filed report. Human assistance can help organise complex facts, but cannot guarantee recovery.
