Recognise the situation
Search results, adverts or social replies may show a fake customer-support number.
Protect yourself now
Use support inside the genuine app or the organisation's official website. Do not install a remote-control app, share your screen or disclose banking secrets.
What to preserve
Keep the search/ad URL, caller details, chat, requested app name and transaction references. Stop remote access if it is active.
Reporting and next steps
For money lost, call 1930 promptly and contact your bank through its verified channel. Report cybercrime at cybercrime.gov.in and keep the acknowledgement. Chakshu on Sanchar Saathi is for suspected fraudulent communications; it does not replace reporting a crime or money lost. Contact local police for immediate threats; call 112 in immediate danger.
For your complaint, record what happened, when, the platform, amount and transaction references if any, and the evidence you have. Leave unknown facts blank. A draft is not a filed report. Human assistance can help organise complex facts, but cannot guarantee recovery.
